Flattering Bridal gowns for Petite Brides

September 30, 2009

Shorter-than-average brides have been wondered that whether there will be their sizes of cheap wedding dresses. Just be attention that simple wedding dresses will provide more choices for you.

Let’s face it: When you’re shorter, you have less area to cover and less fabric to work with. It’s better to keep your expensive wedding gowns relatively uncluttered. Think simple details. Keep the beading and fullness to a minimum. Same goes for the veil: Shorter brides tend to get lost beneath poufy cathedral-length veils, so you may want to stick with the chapel- or elbow-length style. Besides, gloves are not your best option. Since you are less-than-average height, you have to keep in mind that your arms are of less-than-average length. Wearing gloves will make them disappear! Stick to short sleeves with a slight scoop or V-neckline or bodices with off-the-shoulder necklines. Both do a nice job of covering the upper arms and minimizing a muscular upper body. To add the illusion of height, stick to sheaths or A-line lace wedding dresses with minimal fullness. Finally, don’t be worried about your height, to be in the exact discount wedding dress, you will also be the point.

Suggestions for large-chested girl

September 28, 2009

Large –chested sometimes becomes the problem for many brides during the time they are choosing their Discount wedding gowns. How to conceal their large-chest, some suggestions are given below:
First, be sure to find an uplifting foundation garment, or curtail your curves with a one-piece minimizer worn under your cheap wedding gowns that boasts a fitted bodice to emphasize your waist.
Second, a full skirt would also balance things out — try it, you may like it after all! If not, look for an A-line, which is a good shape for just about everybody. Also look for a neckline in a V shape to help de-emphasize the obvious, or a sweetheart shape to compliment your figure. Avoid jewel necklines and empire waists, which will make you, appear even more busty.
Another, believe it or not, an off-the-shoulder bodice can be very flattering. If you’re really self-conscious, you may wish to find a bridal gown with a matching bridal jacket; that way, even if the wedding dress displays a bit of cleavage, you’ll still feel covered.
No matter what size you are, you will all find the most perfect wedding gowns for you!

White is also a new beginning

September 25, 2009

Some traditional ideas always consider that wedding dresses only can be worn by the virginity. Others have no right to put on such a holy color of the beach wedding dresses. That is really old-fashioned opinion. White, which symbolized purity, also represents new beginning. If you’re “living in sin” (as the conservatives like to say) and want to wear white discount wedding dress, do it. Tell your mom that you’ve decided to recast the color’s symbolic message to one of new beginnings: Your new life begins on your wedding day, and you begin that life with a clean slate. Do what you would like to do and wear what you love to wear.

Mom can also wear white

September 24, 2009

Every girl or woman has her right to wear the wedding gowns at her wedding ceremony, no matter it is the first marriage or second. There always be someone discussing about what is appropriate and inappropriate, many second-marriage bride get puzzled by this. Just please consider that how much will you let other’s opinion affect you?
Do not worried about your daughter, if she is too young to serve as a flower girl, you can also walk down the aisle with her (or carry her in your arms) and then hand her to your mother in the first row as you step up to meet your groom. She has the right to witness her mother wearing the summer wedding dresses as well. White now is not only for virginity, but more for joy and celebration. If you don’t feel comfortable in an affordable wedding dress, go for a simpler wedding gowns, perhaps with a simple headpiece. Whether to wear a veil is up to you — though the blusher (the veil that goes over a bride’s face) is still considered the prerogative of first-timers.
Whatever kind of Discount wedding dresses you choose, only to remember you are the most beautiful bride.

In summer, outdoor wedding progressively become a fashion for many brides. Maybe there emerged a problem that someone wants to wear cheap wedding dresses for the outdoor wedding ceremony, but they are afraid whether are the casual wedding dresses suitable for the outdoor environment. How to decide?
Do not worry about that that is your wedding which could depend on your own desire. As long as your informal wedding gowns doesn’t feature heavy, sparkly appliqués and a huge train, it will be fine for an outdoor summer wedding. You might not want to go for high-sheen satin, which might suggest evening more than daytime, but if it’s a simple, unadorned, strapless satin modest wedding dress we’re talking about, you’ll probably be fine. With a little recommendation, maybe silk fabric will make you more comfortable in the hot summer.

September 18, 2009

White, as we all know, stands for purity and holiness. It has also been the first choice for beach wedding dress. Ivory is also a beautiful color for the discount bridal gowns, so many brides cannot decide which to wear.

How to choose quality silk bed linen

Finding quality can be a daunting taks. There is a vast amount of silk bed linen on the market today ranging hugely in both quality and price. Knowing what to look for can be a daunting task. Here are a few tips that if followed will ensure you buy a quality silk bedding product that will last for many years.

  1. Insist on 100% mulberry silk. There are many varieties of silk on the market. When purchasing silk bedding insist on 100% mulberry silk. Only 100% mulberry silk consists of a continuous strand of silk. Wild silk, commonly known as Habotai silk is often passed off as mulberry silk but is never of the same quality as mulberry silk. Habotai or China Silk as it is sometimes called is often made up of broken strands of silk and non-silk fibres and is more suited for silk scarves and items requiring shorter fibres. Habotai silk does not have the same durability as 100% mulberry silk. Only 100% mulberry silk can offer the consistency and durability required in quality silk bed linen.
  2. A thread count of 400 or more. When considering making a purchase of silk linen, always check the thread count. The higher the thread count, the tighter the silk is woven. An ideal thread count for silk linen is above 400. Anything lover than 400 will not be as durable and not last as fine silk linen should.
  3. Momme weight explained. You may have heard of momme when purchasing silk items. Momme is the gauge used to determine the physical weight of silk. The basic measurement for momme is weighing a piece of silk that is 100 yards long and 45 inches wide. If the total weight comes to sixteen pounds then the silk will be graded as 16 momme. If the silk is heavier then a higher momme grade will be given and visa versa. Silk with a lower momme number will have physically less silk in the item than one with a higher number. Your silk bedding should have a high momme number, at the very least above 12. Traditionally silk with a momme of fewer than 12 has been reserved for light silk clothing, while a momme of 12-19 is used for silk bedding. A momme of 22 would be durable enough for a tailored suit. Silk bedding with a momme of 19 will be more durable and easier to care for than a say a momme of 14.
  4. Beware of a false economy. Silk sheets and bedding sets are often offered at hugely discounted prices. Although at the time of purchase the price may seem a bargain, be sure the bedding meets the above criteria. If not, the bedding will not last like 100% mulberry silk bedding. When properly cared for 100% mulberry silk bedding with a momme weight of 19 and a thread count of 400 will far outlast cotton bedding and prove to be a sound investment.

Silk bedding can also be of benefit in the following areas

September 16, 2009

Osteoarthritis - Silk bedding and duvets drape over us, moulding around our bodies which eliminates single points of pressure. Conventional duvets and blankets do not drape over our bodies but rather from a heavier barrier that can cause pain and irritation to sensitive joints. Eliminating single points of pressure can greatly increase the quality and comfort of sleep.
Shingles - Significant relief from Shingles can be gained by using silk bedding. Silk being soft and light creates less pressure, this combined with tightly woven silk sheets enables easier movement and less resistance on the bed sheets. Silk filled duvets can also be of help to shingle sufferers as like silk top sheets, they drape over the body eliminating single points of contact.
Dry skin - Silk has an amazing ability to help our skin reabsorb moisture through the natural occurring amino acids within silk. Absorbing moisture that has been lost during the day while sleeping will aid in rejuvenating the skin throughout the night. This is hugely beneficial to sufferers of both Eczema and dry skin.
Overheating - Silk has the amazing ability to keep us cool when it’s warm and warm when it’s cool. It does this be allowing our body heat to dissipate. Conventional (down, feather and polyester) duvets work in a similar way to a pressure cooker. As we sleep our body heat is reflected back to us from the duvet and we are kept warm. This however continues to happen throughout the night which causes overheating. Long fibre mulberry silk duvets are manufactured using a layering grid technique which places layer upon layer of silk in a criss cross pattern. This design allows some of our body heat to escape through the duvet, leaving us warm but not hot. Being a more constant temperature throughout the night allows our bodies to have a more relaxing and rejuvenating sleep.

Silk bedding is the healthy option for you and your family

September 14, 2009

Naturally healthy silk bedding. Simply put, silk bedding is healthier for us than down, feather or synthetic bedding.
There are so many products on the market today that claim to be healthy and good for us - it’s not always easy to separate the good from the bad. With silk it’s a bit easier. Silk is a natural product, and being natural our bodies respond far better to silk than they do to synthetic products.
Silk is sympathetic to our bodies needs and works in conjunction with our bodies to help us get what we really want and need - contented, deep sleep.
The benefits of silk bedding to allergy sufferers. Allergy sufferers really can benefit from sleeping on and under silk bedding. The most common form of dust mite related allergy is Asthma and sneezing fits. This is mainly brought on by related issues from the droppings of dust mites. The enzymes released from the droppings are inhaled and an allergic reaction occurs.
Silk bedding is naturally hypoallergenic and is an environment dust mites find inhospitable. Using silk duvets and bedding can significantly help reduce the number of dust mites living in bedding. The reduction of dust mites can have a direct effect on the quality of sleep to those who suffer from dust mite related allergies. Here is what one of our customers sent us after purchasing several of our silk filled pillows.

Don’t rashly change your mind

Things will get better and better. That is always the problem for the brides. They always want to make their casual wedding dresses perfect. Sometimes some small changes will be made. When you get this decision, please check whether your simple wedding gown is a simple one or an elaborately constructed one. If it was a simpler modest wedding dress, it may be easy to alter. If your affordable wedding dresses is a more complicated one, it will cost more money and labor to change, so do not easily make up your mind to alter. If you really persist in changing, it becomes more necessary to discuss well with your seamstress who will be angry to cut your vintage wedding dresses off.

Silk and its legendary discovery

September 10, 2009

It is almost impossible to say exactly when the production of silk began. Recent Chinese archaeological finds have uncovered carved ivory depictions of silk worms thought to be 6000 to 7000 years old.
According to legend, the Chinese princess Hsi Ling Shi claims the honour of discovering silk. Apparently she dropped a silk cocoon into her cup of tea, and when she removed it, the silk had unravelled into a single strand. It was from this one accident that the production of silk is supposed to have been born.
The Chinese carefully guarded the secrets of silk production (sericulture) for thousands of years. It was a capital offence to attempt to smuggle silk or reveal the secrets of its production outside of China. At one stage, silk was so highly regarded that silk clothes were the privilege of the Emperor alone. Silk had a major impact on Chinese foreign trade, and helped keep the Chinese dynasty afloat through thousands of years. As time wore on and the secrets of silk manufacture were passed from generation to generation, production methods improved and silk became a more widespread commodity in China. It is recorded that the secretes of sericulture had reached Korea by 200 BC and 100 years later silk was being produced in India.
Silk today Throughout the ages silk has been a valued commodity and today is no different. Although the volume has increased, the fundamentals of silk production have stayed largely the same. The natural properties of silk and its hypoallergenic qualities have been well documented and are becoming increasingly popular. Here at ellesilk.com we are proud to uphold the ancient tradition of the silk road, bringing the finest quality silk products we can find to our customers.

The late 1st and early 2nd Century BC saw the opening of the silk road, a route which stretched over 4000 miles through Asia and on to the Middle East. Silk was traded along this route and eventually found its way into Europe as a highly prized commodity, often considered to be more valuable than gold. It is recorded that Roman emperor Heliogabalus was the only Roman of his time to wear a garment made of pure silk. Marco Polo (1254-1324) was possibly the routes most famous traveller. He travelled through Mongolia and into China, finding the source of the silk road. It was after his return to Venice that European silk production began.

Silk Varieties

September 7, 2009

There are literally hundreds of silk varieties of silk. A few have been listed on this page to help you identify which ones are good for bedding and which are not.
Charmeuse Silk
Possibly the most common silk, and definitely the best silk for bedding. Charmeuse silk has a shine to it along with a soft, flowing feel. Charmeuse silk is also used in high quality pyjamas and sometimes used in dresses and shirts.
Habutai
Habutai is the Japanese word for “downy and soft”. Habutai silk is used widely in silk bedding and in and for the large part is very good. It is definitely a rung down from Charmeuse silk, but if you can find a momme number of 19 it’s worth considering. warning on Habutai silk is some suppliers sand was the silk to make it even softer. This greatly reduces the durability of the linen. For this reason we do not recommend sand washed silks at all.
Dupioni Silk
Dupioni silk is a great silk that is made from two cocoons that have interwoven. When looking at the finished product the Dupioni silk can change colour and hues in the changing light. Dupioni silk is great for dying and has a slightly raised feel. Dupoini silk is more suited to clothing than bedding.
Wilk Silk
Wild silk is literally silk that has been harvested from the wild. The silk is of lesser quality and the cocoon cannot be unravelled in one continuous filament. This is because wild silk worms eat whatever is available to them and not premium mulberry leaves. Wild silk is often spun into garments, ties and linings. There is an ethical question about harvesting silk from the wild. Although the moth has continued it’s life cycle harvesting silk from the wild is seriously damaging the populations of wild silk worms to the brink of extension.

Is silk or isn’t it organic?

September 2, 2009

To the best of our knowledge there are no organic suppliers of silk filled duvets in the china at the present time. Many suppliers may try to pass their duvets off as Organic but in actual fact they are natural, and not organic as no certification has been gained.
Many suppliers assume that because the silk for their duvets is harvested from mulberry trees, and the worms are raised on nothing but a diet of mulberry leaves their product is organic. Sadly this is a misconception and without certification, the products are certainly not organic. The easiest way to determine if the duvet or linen you are considering purchasing is organic is to ask the retailer for proof. If the products are organic they will have documentation to back up their claim and they will proudly display the soil association stamp of approval.
If you know of true organic silk duvets and silk bed linen supplied in the china. please get in touch.
